How to price pressure washing jobs

Measure each surface, apply a rate per surface, add chemicals and travel, and set a minimum. Software (some with AI) can do the measuring and math for you.

Three pricing methods

Rates by surface published by one pricing site: siding $0.15–$0.25, basic concrete $0.08–$0.20, deck $0.20–$0.50, fence $0.30–$0.50, roof soft wash $0.15–$0.70 per sq ft, with a $100–$150 minimum common (TradePricingControl). These are third-party ranges, not ours; use your own costs.

Worked example (from Jobber's guide)

800 sq ft driveway × $0.20 = $160, plus $8 overhead and $25 detergent and degreaser = $193 cost. Then add your margin (source).

FAQ

How much should I charge per square foot for pressure washing?

Published third-party ranges vary: Jobber Academy cites $0.10 to $0.50 per sq ft; TradePricingControl lists $0.08 to $0.20 for basic concrete and $0.15 to $0.25 for siding. Build your price from your own labor, chemical, travel and overhead costs.

Should I charge by the hour or by the square foot?

Jobber Academy says per-hour covers your time, per-square-foot works well for multi-surface jobs, and flat rates suit experienced crews. Many owners mix methods.
