Guide · Missed calls
AI receptionist for cleaning companies
You're on a job with gloves on when the phone rings. An AI receptionist or a missed-call text-back can catch that lead, but only if it's set up so it doesn't quote the wrong price or book outside your area.
Two kinds of tools
- Missed-call text-back (cheapest): texts the caller back so the lead doesn't go cold. PepperSend: $15/mo + $0.03/SMS + $0.40/AI voice min; Inferno $249/mo
- AI receptionist: answers the call, takes details, and on some plans books or transfers.
AI receptionists, price as shown
- Dialzara: Lite $29/mo (60 min, $0.48/min overage); Pro $99; Plus $199; Elite $349
- Rosie: Professional $49/mo (250 min); Scale $149/mo (1,000 min); Growth $299/mo (2,000 min); annual billing gives 2 months free
- Goodcall: Starter $79/mo per agent, 100 unique callers, unlimited minutes price unverified
- Smith.ai: AI free for 25 calls then $3/call; human plans from $300/mo price unverified
- Markate: $49.95/mo or $45.95/mo annual; +$5/employee; most add-ons $10/mo; Kate-AI $1/call (per wrenchstack) (Kate-AI receptionist add-on)
Watch the unit: per minute, per call, per unique caller or flat. A busy season can multiply a per-minute bill.
Test it before customers hear it
- Call it asking for a price. It should collect details (beds, baths, pets, address), not invent a quote.
- Call from outside your service area. It should say so politely.
- Ask to reschedule a recurring clean. Does it change the booking or just take a message? A cost comparison for cleaning businesses lists reschedules as the call you get most (StackSpace, a vendor).
- Ask for a human. Check where the transfer or message goes.
- Check what callers hear when your plan's minutes run out.

FAQ
How much does an AI receptionist cost for a cleaning business?
Prices we recorded range from Smith.ai free for 25 calls then $3/call (unverified on the vendor page) and Dialzara Lite at $29/mo, to Rosie at $49 to $299/mo and Goodcall from $79/mo per agent (unverified). Missed-call text-back like PepperSend starts at $15/mo plus usage.
Can an AI receptionist give cleaning quotes?
Only if you give it firm pricing rules. Safer: have it collect beds, baths, pets, frequency and address, and send you the lead to quote.
What should I test before turning one on?
Price questions, out-of-area callers, reschedules, a request for a human, and what happens when plan minutes run out.
